{"id":325,"date":"2018-12-06T14:28:46","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T18:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.1.174\/wp\/wordpress\/?page_id=325"},"modified":"2020-02-12T15:44:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T20:44:17","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cpaa-acmpa.ca\/wp\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>We&#8217;re Canada&#8217;s oldest postal union.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The\u00a0Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association\u00a0was founded in 1902 in Stonewall, Manitoba as a grassroots organization dedicated to improving the working conditions of Postmasters in rural Manitoba. <a href=\"\/wp\/wordpress?page_id=863\">More than a century<\/a>\u00a0later, CPAA has grown from a local organization to a national association that is now the second largest bargaining unit representing employees of Canada Post Corporation, working in over 3,000 rural post offices across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Association is governed by <a href=\"\/wp?page_id=3107\">bylaws.<\/a> It includes <a href=\"\/wp\/wordpress?page_id=376\">National Officers<\/a>, <a href=\"\/wp\/wordpress?page_id=1082\">Branch Officers<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/wp\/wordpress?page_id=406\">support staff<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are over 8,000 full-time, part-time and term CPAA members. We represent Canada Post employees\u00a0who work in the following jobs:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Semi-Staff Postmasters\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Group Postmasters\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Senior Assistants\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Full-Time Assistants\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Part-Time Assistants<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re Canada&#8217;s oldest postal union.
