Position : Finance/Administrative Assistant

Assisting the Office Manager/Acc. Financial Admin.; in managing, processing various accounts, transactions and other related administrative tasks.

Job Type: Full Time (35 hours per week) - Ottawa

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Utilize computerized systems and a variety of software (Accpac, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Assist for all tasks related to administration and bookkeeping
- Process and prepare financial transactions, accounts payables, accounts receivables, vouchers, etc.
- To provide support in preparing the financial reports in the accounting and finance system as per instructions. (List of cheques, Bank reconciliation, Month end reports, etc.)
- Assists in preparation of budgets.
- Prepare all documents for Audit and coordinate the audit for National and Branches

Maintains and processes payroll records and reports for accounting of salary/wages due, accruals, deductions and other payroll functions.

- Maintains various payroll records such as timecard sheets, automatic bank deposit authorizations, payroll journals and ledger.
- Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
- Prepare all remittance to the Governments (Salary Deductions, ONEHT, etc.)
- Prepare T4, record of employment, etc.

Professional degree in administration and finance.
Knowledge of Accpac software is an asset but not essential.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
Ability to organize work, take on a multitude of tasks and set priorities
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision as well as with a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment and exercise discretion when it comes to handle confidential information.
Must be fluently bilingual in English and French; oral and written.

Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite; Word Excel, Outlook and Power Point, Accpac (Sage 300)
